1. You dont die instantly from trauma to the heart. It takes a while.
2. He most definatly did not die fast. The helicopter was on the way and he died while it was enrout. I doubt they would have even bothered if he died "instantly" |

I doubt he would die isntantly... it takes several minutes to die of a punctured heart. Just like when you sever an artery... takes 2 to 4 minutes... depending on the size of the wound... he may have fallen unconscious from the pain thought... it's unlikely since the brain produces a bunch of hormones...

Apparently he was still conscious enough to have taken out the spear that pierced his heart, by himself...
Apparently his death was filmed but the tape was confiscated by Queensland police as evidence that his death was somehow accidental. The thing is, it's damn rare for a stingray to kill someone... Damn shame he had to go this way, I hoped to see him still being around until he'd be as old as Attenborough... he definitely died before his time, the only consolation is he was K.I.A. and probably wouldn't have it any other way... R.I.P. Steve Irvin... y00 pwnz00rd! Crikey! |

I always thought Steve would live to the ripe age of 150 teaching his children, and their children how to wrestle a croc. I guess not, may he rest in peace. The man deserved to die in a blaze of glory, that stab wound was probably some ninja dart or something..
