I'm pretty sure the angle you take off at depends on how fast you're moving (saw it somewhere). If you stand still, it's just straight up (pretty high), and if you're in run mode and catching up to a tank, you could probably keep up with a Reaver for about two seconds (you would go almost straight). I can't wait to master jump jets.
