I think they're trying to get a two-fer marketing bonus.
1) The fans get their questions answered 2) Lots more #planetside2 tweets for folks to pick up on, the clout scores of those doing the "A"-ing goes up, and they may become recommendations for others who haven't necessarily heard of it. Having said that... yes. Twitter is no chat client, and it's particularly painful when the answerer doesn't use the "reply" button so you lose the context. So I understand why, but Ouch. And it's not like we won't go ask questions either. Hopeless addicts, the lot of us. |

i was thinking about the #planetside2 effect as well, but we didnt see it very often during the QnA, so its pretty pointless. There is no viable reason to use twitter for this kind of stuff. You cant mix a QnA with the community and advertising to people who never heard of the game before directly together, it just doesnt work. I say use IRC, or Voon. Heck, you guys got Vivox integrated voice chat, Voon is from Vivox, there is no reason not to use it. |

And given that he qualified that with "the default", I suspect any "open face" helmets will be purely cosmetic changes. There might even be a wh40k-seargent-esque no-helmet option. Goofy under the circumstances, but lots of players will have played 40k and might like the look. We'll welcome them too, with open arms and high explosives. |

Yeah twitter is a pain, mainly due to the text limit IMO, hard to explain such a vast concept in 140 characters or less, it also seems to give them a cop out that leads us to wanting more info because they give simple one liners.
I would like to see a screen of a Female Vanu Commander with all her armor off. Perhaps they wear purple lingerie under all that tough exterior? |
