For starters, explain to them that it's like taking the Battlefield games and extending the player count and map size by a massive amount.

Then proceed to explain why they don't need to wait for the idiot circus boy with a pretty new pet to crash his plane in order for them to have a try, because in Planetside you have an unlimited amount of toys in line for you to play with. Also unlike Battlefield, these toys are not owned by the daycare, these are your toys, configure them how you please, and use them when you want!

Aside from toys, you're not limited to just a box of sand in Planetside, because in Planetside you're on a mother fucking beach with no boarders but your own (unless your parents are assholes and leash you).

Instead of loading into the next battle like you do in Battlefield, you instead walk to the next battle! They may not be foaming at the mouth yet for the game, but they may be more interested in knowing more about it.

Think my friends are going to be well and truely clued up on planetside 2 !

I did tell them a war story or so but again I guess being there to belive / witness it is also a key factor

at collage when it was out I rember playing it in a Lan Cafe on a off chance of what is this game? the following day it was all I talked about to a freind in class and after some google fun found out more infomation after collage (thank god for half days!!) we returned and played till close - next day we started talking and got more people intrested from what I know or rember I] think half our class was playing it after that VS and TR being the most popular

Eventually I got enough money to play and own my own account - so that's where the real story's begin I hope to have even more with Planetside 2

I agree with basti though - shorter 400+ players bang bang mass battles less the better may spark curiosity

PS2 is going to be a free to play game. So why not just get them to try it out with you? Not much to lose there.

When real trailers start to come out about this game, people are going to get really hyped. The only people that aren't excited yet are those that don't really know about Planetside.

So at this point, if someone asks what will make Planetside 2 so awesome, all you have to do is smile knowingly and say "You'll see, my friend. You'll see."

Planeside 2: sort of like futuristic CoD except 2000 players on one map the size of Skyrim; and every toy and vehicle available to all players for free because you will either drive, fly, or walk to the next battle, or die trying.

Somebody on another game forum just told me that they're waiting for the first ever MMOFPS to be released. They apparently can't understand why there's never been a MMOFPS seeing as how popular the genre is. When I said that Planetside was/is the first proper MMOFPS, he said he'd never heard of it and he's been playing online games since Quake 1.

I mentioned that Planetside 2 is taking applications for closed beta, he said he's never heard of that game either.

Go SOE. You really need to hire a proper marketing team. There's hundreds of thousands, if not millions of customers out there just waiting for something that's already been around for 8 years.

I've got about 80+ people to convince to check this game out. If it's F2P it shouldn't be that hard.
