I'm still under the impression that every Empire will get a specific shotgun.

Can't say I really agree with anyone who says or wants the Jackhammer to have an alternative firing mode for longer range. Play to the weapon's strengths, don't expect it to be a jack of all trades. It's that mentality which ruins most games in my opinion. That's why weapon customization has me worried.

My empire's weapon takes the most skill and the other empires' weapons are easy and OP.

Seriously though, for all the additional empire variation I'd like to see (and seems to be coming) in Planetside 2, HA is probably the sole area I'd like to see empire differences reduced. With that in mind, the JH would have a much tighter cone to give it an effective range closer to that of the MCG/Lasher, with it's damage reduced to compensate, then make whatever common pool shotgun may exist better than all 3 at close range, but worse at mid.

What Planetside 2 really needs is Lasher 2.0

It was already nerfed. We are on Lasher 2.1 now.

If needed, they could add some slug ammo for the jackhammer that makes it a little more efffective at medium range. It would have more stopping power, but be less accurate than a dedicated assault rifle. Furthermore, it comes with a downside that you have to use inventory space to carry this ammo, and you have to take time to switch it out. And in any case, the gauss would still be better at long range.

How about HA is not in at all? That would make for a better game.

People still use the jackhammer, a lot. You're pretty much guaranteed a kill at certain distances. Now I see your point that at medium-close range it did pretty much nothing but to bring this discussion back to PS2, you can modify the gun to be more effective at those ranges.

NC jackhammer in ps1 is a good gun in close up but it's shocking bad in range real bad
Befor it had two fire modes normal and triple shot, now a days no one uses it

What changes would you like to see to the jackhammer?

Also will it be heavy class only? Will it have two fire modes again?

(The Jackhammer Is A Shotgun And Is Not Good In Range Anyway The Jackhammer Is Very OP Any Way Theres No Need To Chance It.)

The only real difference is the RoF which makes the JH incredible if you can aim and punishes you more if you can't.

Overall i'd take a front loaded dmg weapon anyday, assuming player skill is constant front loaded weapons will always kill faster, that was always the issue as TR, you could land all your shots and be dead before you'd fired a leathal amount of bullets

My two cents.. Jackhammer and Chaingun are fine as long as hacks stay out of the mix. As far as Lasher to balance it out just make it single fire mode... increase the damage output, but have it balance damage to hurt both health and armor/shields with the same round/"bullet". Also allow it to hurt vehicles a bit.. It is after all... "plasma" being fired right??? Plasma burns through both...

Make it Lash friendlies, thats what PS1 was missing and would've probably avoided some nerfs.
