Hey there I like your ideas. I understand you're just brainstorming here but I have a few bones to pick with unassisted dropping. Yes it would be awesome to have a glider mechanic for stealth ops and all that. However, I don't think it should be a priority for the devs since there's a whole lot of other shit they should be working on. Stealth drops could be handled by a low-flying Galaxy which lands nearby and lets the stealthers continue on foot.
Absolutely yes to the radar galaxy. I'd love to see these hovering over big confrontations, but I'd also like them to be ridiculously clunky and stripped down so that they're a) the easiest galaxy mod to kill and thus b) high priority targets. Only the most skilled and courageous galaxy pilots should be able to safely carry our leaders! |

Now, I'm not just saying it's easy, I've coded this in a game before, it is SO simple. All you're doing is a few lines of code, one of which is just making it so they can jump out, remove the barrier drop code, ect. I can't program, but I've worked with this once before, and it is EASY. The aesthetics can come later as with vehicle entry/exit animations. What I was suggesting for the Recon Galaxy was just as you said. It would be lighter armored and maybe slower. It's a Galaxy, so it's a big target, hard to miss, and a giant saucer on top makes it a high priority target, so it'd work out well. |

This sounds AWESOME. My only complaint is that I'd rather the Lodestar return than the Galaxy be able to transport vehicles. Although I never played PS, an air vehicle completely dedicated to vehicle transport sounds fun. (Obviously, it would be able to be certed into other roles in PS2, like the Galaxy.)

Unassisted dropping sounds fantastic and I would love to see it. Gals filled with LA falling out the back? Yes, please.
I really want drop pods as well, though it was something I was hoping to see if they ever implement air cruisers or even from ships in space or something. That said, I wouldn't say no to drop pods in a galaxy just because drop pods are that awesome. |

Higby did state the idea similar to way I did with mine, so it's a distinct possibility. Last edited by Zekeen; 2012-07-07 at 07:19 PM. |

I really like your idea. I liked the feel in Halo 3: ODST, but it was one-time thing, and it just felt cinematic. I'd like this because you'll get the full effects of being a drop-shock trooper, and you'll be able to feel like one too! And let's be honest... Pods are safer than landing on our feet!
Fast forward to 1:53. |
