Though I know there was some talk about revisiting if you could loot people as that was a big part of PS when you were backed into a corner or gen.

More likely it was in the context of "the back story" rather than a game mechanic.

I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to allow people to pick up the 'kit' from a fallen soldier like you could on BF2142 (and possibly BFBC2)....

...But the problem is what you do if you're not certified to use some or all of that kit, because without an inventory system its all or nothing, and adding such a system would slow things down by quite a lot.

And.. If you had it so that you could use looted weapons without certs, you'd never cert anything, just pick up the dead guys stuff all the time.

I wonder how the populations will stack up this time around. NC seems like an easy choice, but they have some pretty strange looking armor now. Seems like it could really go any of the three ways. Hopefully the 3 sides just stay pretty even population-wise, that would rock.

I guess the VS being overpopulated wouldn't be too bad. Just like Lasher 2.0 all over again, although probably with something like 20% less raping of the NC and TR.

hrm its really a tough call, im hoping they all say even, they all have their backgrounds and draw in different crowds.

terrain should get some people bcause they do look pretty good and people are attracted to the bad "red" team, as seen in every MMO after WoW.

NC is seen at the good side, so they will get some following there, but their armour looks kinda weak, if anything i ould expect NC to be the least populated...until people see that their weapons are OP and jumpship.

VS obviously look cool, but alot of people are not comfortable with their sexuality and have issues wearing purple, we all know that real men wear purple. id imagine they will get some good following, particularly by elitists or want to be elitists who like to make their banners and tabards in pink, generally featuring cupcakes.
id expect a spit like ~30%nc 36%VS 34% TR.

Sofar iv never been wrong in calling what empires will be the largest when a game launches.

why don't we all discuss why the F**k is planetside 2 literally like BF3 when planetside is nothing at all to do with BF , and some how i don't think planetside 2 will have the same feel as planetside , come on agree with me that this so call planetside 2 is a BF3 copy and paste

Been TR since release, not going to change anytime soon. I was talking about new guys, since it seemed like a lot of the new players in PS1 would join NC because they were considered the freedom loving good guys, while the rest would choose TR because red and black are awesome, and VS would be underpopulated.

It wasn't severe unbalance of course, but with the awesome backgrounds and new models, the choice may be harder for new players ensuring an even distribution among all empires.
