I think the Galaxy Gunship is fine as it is. Because the Galaxy can be configured to have more armaments than a standard Galaxy means that it could potentially fulfill two roles instead of just one. I'd imagine a Galaxy Gunship dropping maybe 2-4 infiltrators off to hack a facility, whilst the Galaxy gunship provides fire support during the hack.
The trade off for this is that the galaxy cannot drop as many troops off at once, meaning the invading force is no where near as powerful as a fully loaded galaxy, but because Galaxy's are spawn locations now, means they can still be used tactically. |

The pictures you sketched up look cool, if you were the one who drew em. Super vehicles are a slippery slope in the PS universe. Although the GG could fit this role, something more specialized with more firepower and better turret placement/angles *but* being FAR SQUISHIER than a Gal - would be a blast to fly or gun. At this point ideas like this are probably a "after-release" kind of a thing though. Might be better to speculate ideas for making the GG better via customization upgrades.

I enjoyed the implementation of the GG in PS1, but now that the Lib is a dedicated gunship, I think the Galaxy should stay lightly armed. I also don't think we need something larger than the Liberator. Would be nice to have some kind of bombs on the ES fighters, though.

That said, as far as vehicles that any individual could spawn, I think the job of heavy bombardment belongs to the Liberator. If you make the Galaxy as effective at air to ground combat or create a third vehicle for the roll, you risk trivializing the existence of vehicle(s) already dedicated to the roll. "Its faster" isn't enough of a reason to have something like the Liberator around in that scenario, in my opinion. |

I'd rather see the galaxy gunship return.
It makes sense and should be kept imo because this type of conversion has a basis irl (I assume that is why the community wanted it back in PS1). The C-130 is to the AC-130 what the galaxy transport is to the galaxy gunship. Imo they should make the galaxy gunship a full conversion option pretty far up the certification ladder. It should remove all passenger positions and replace them with gunners for the weapons. But that is just me |

if a big flying battleship makes it into the game, it should be one per continent, and it should be invincible by conventional attacks.
it should be a flying capturepoint we have to bail over and take it from the inside. maybe make the guns destructible so the owner has to keep engineers inside. but i don´t really know how to manage who is going to steer that thing. maybe platoon leaders can request this thing to a certain base and it will go to the base that got the most requests. |

Tikuto, I think I've found something that would fit the bill perfectly!
Imaging having it circle strafe you with cannon fire. Can't say I'd want to be the tailgunner though. Last edited by JHendy; 2012-06-08 at 05:02 PM. |

Oh lord i want to see this in the game now. I imagine large battles inside the Flying Battleship. Even specialized "Marine" outfits for Battleship defence and boarding. |
