does anyone else feel the same way?

Definitely. I sit there at my computer and think 'what do I want to play?' I know exactly what I want to play but I can't play it so I have to settle for TF2 and then I end up getting pissed off at something and stop playing and think 'ugh. still a good three days or so...I need something to do until then'.

And its not because I played PS1: I didn't.
I've lost so much hope in all facets of gaming and to see Planetside 2 is a refreshing possibility.
I'm amazed I missed the first one.
I don't have a gaming life anymore. My gaming life is playing whats good, which is almost only whats old, which means I'm getting sick of my hobby. Thats not good.
So like TC, I'm really only waiting for this. I'm doubtful, since I actually consider BF3 and COD4 to be the trash of gaming and this takes a few things from them, but I believe it can pull off something great with what it has.
Its not like there is anything better somewhere to wait for.

CoD4 was actually quite good considering it was their first shot at something new. BF3 is just awful, I can't even play it anymore.
But the first half of your post is me a lot of the time. There was a time when I was younger that I would read a gaming magazine and EVERY game looked interesting, I wanted to try them all. Now, as I've gotten older and the gaming community has been corrupted and the industry has gotten lazy I look at all the games coming and know that 95% of them will be shoddy and disappointing. Even worse for those of us on the PC side of things, constantly getting screwed over by the likes of Activision, EA, Ubisoft, etc. Not that there aren't good games anymore, we've had some awesome games over the past year but very few that I think will have serious longevity or that will be looked back on so fondly in the future.
