I've heard of the impact kerambit before (i think), except I thought it was metal. This ranger guy said that if properly used you could easily break limbs wit it.

*EDIT* Yeah, you have to read the full desription, there is a picture. It is explained the same way the guy told me.

The Kerambit's ring and the tip of the L-shaped section are designed to put your wrist at its strongest natural angle. You may strike full force against any part of your attacker's body, even bone, without fear of hurting your knuckles or wrist. The bottom edge provides for full-force backhanded blows and is also a great blocking tool that will in the process of blocking can also disable the offending limb. Due to its unique design, you need never let go of the Kerambit, even when grasping, pulling, or controlling your attacker. On today's streets, you can't afford to be without one of these. Constructed of lightweight indestructible plastic. Sized to fit in a pocket. Color: black. Includes instructions. Also available is the Impact Kerambit Trainer, a soft injection molded rubber version designed for training use as it will not cause excessive pain or damage to your training partner.

however, the fact that they misspelled "serach" on the bottom of the page does increase suspicion.

Kevlar is the multi-layered bulletproof, almost cloth material, right? Or am I thinking of a different type of armor?

All I remember is that back in Grade school, when we had our DARE/ Adopt-a-Cop program, he passed the vest around. I was shocked at how heavy it was, although I'm sure that the technology has improved.

Reminds me about how we were buying bad vests that couldn't stop .357 rounds from a Magnum like they advertised for our cops in NYC...

That stuff is waaaaayyy better than kevlar, read up on it. Anyway, the kevlar vests themselves dont' stop much more than a beretta I think, the main deal that stops the bullets is the composite ceramic plate they put in it, those things can stop almost any bullet.

Kevlar stops the bullet from penetrating, and the ceramic plates are there to absorb the shock of the bullet.

Have you read the book black hawk down? The book is testimonies from the delta guys. The kevlar and spectra stops most bulets from penetrating, but the faster, harder-hitting rifle rounds and armor piercing bullets like the 5.7mm will cut through the kevlar relatively easily. The composite plate stops rifle threats, they will even stop the 7.62

actually, it was more likely a 7.62 ak-47, which are VERY VERY good.
