I have a SB Zx with AD 700 headphones. The sounds in the game are deep and the sounds stage is great. It's not that I can't hear stuff well, it's really that the guns sound terrible, at least for the TR.

Yea, if u have a decent pair of headphones (ive got Soundblaster Pro + Astro A50 Headset with Dolby digital live conversion to 7.1 surround) and i can tell u guys, sound is a absolutely incredible. If only they had more advanced music ques so we can head more of the planetside music would be great..

TR guns are suppose to sound as they do becuase they use small calibre ammunition with very high fire rate.. Ive shot alot of guns in my life, and have loads in my house.. All of my .22's including the .22 revolver sound like little shit BBguns compared to the real deal .45 (Like the NC guns).. So ye thats what you TR scum get for ur crappy guns ;P lol

To be fair, they are probably using some kind of Body Armor Piercing .30/7.62 NATO derivative...
Considering an Airsoft BB is .24/6mm and Video Game guns are generally quieter then their real life counterparts to prevent Ear-rape, its easy to see why the TR trademark "Bruddabruddabrudda" is softer then the NC's "Th-rud th-rud th-rud."

I think the problem with TR weapons is that they sound like they are being fired in a room with sound absorbing material. When you shoot them, the sound dies off immediately and there's no reverberation. The TR guns should probably be the loudest and most filling since they are still actually using bullets. NC weapons are rail guns and the VS are lasers so it makes sense that their weapons don't sound like a conventional gun.

The TR however, sound like they are using full auto pop-guns. The TMG-50's not bad but everything else sounds small. Hell, making the TR guns sound like a .22 would be an improvement. Right now they just sound like a nail gun.

Both nc and tr guns are breaking the soundbarrier so theey should have a satisfying pow when shot. The vs guns are disintegrating air as they are fired and should sound similar to thunder.

Well Rail Guns aren't quiet man, the reason the NC do 20% more damage per shot is because they are firing 20% more bullet per shot instead of the TR's 20% more bullets per minute.

Again, this is probably to prevent ear rape...

A big hullabaloo on the SOE forums right now is how loud they made the Light Assault Jet Packs initial boost sound, with all those for it not realising those against it just don't want to have their ear drums blasted out with each jump.
A TMG-50 is probably a .50 cal rifle, which would make it the caliber equivalent to a Basilisk/Drake or a Kobalt.
