As far as I remember there werent alot of issues, but those bugs may have just been your experience. In Game Design and Development it comes down to this "You cant make everyone happy, but you can try to make most of them happy". Which means the devs try to cater to as many as possible. Beta Testing is (supposed) to be where the developers squash as many bugs as they can so the product is stable. Feel free to correct me if im wrong about the CC launch, i dont remember it that well.

My entire outfit, and many allied outfits, were completely unable to play because the game would stutter at 4 seconds per frame (no joke, that was the average I timed it at) whenever you were within 50 meters of another player. It was a full month before I was able to log on and actually DO something in-game.
If I recall, the OF was overflowing with people that had the same isssues.

yeah those just suck.
i realy doubt it would ever go to Microsofe even if the Xbox is better for the game. Because Bio, the place you test is it's own eintity it not part of the companies that make the things they desine stuff for. but SOE is owned by sony, and every sony made game i've seen has gone the the PS2 to date. Though i realy doubs it would see the light of day on PS2 even, the hardware just wouldn't work, and you would basicaly need a disk for every continent. Though the PS3 is gone have specs that are better than most new computers it seems, then we may see a port

Xbox could easily run PS, hardware-wise. But some games like these are just better than on consoles, mainly because of the controls, it would be horrible to see how they would try to implement the current control scheme on to a controller.
I would much rather play FPS on consoles, but I hate when games are ported to a different system / console, way after its release (ie. Halo, CS, GTA). A game loses its lustre after so long, regardless how many new people try it out.

Just an idea i had. Propably sounds stupid.
What if Sony developed a new Console Gaming System specified only for PlanetSide. It would cost around $200 and it could run PS at full graphics with smooth gameplay, and include a mouse and keyboard. Just plug it into your TV and you're good to go. Sound good? |
