I lived on the beach for a while, until I moved in like 8th grade. it was a pretty big house, which my parents spent 10 years restoring (originally built in 1880), or rather paying people to restore it for them. anyhoo, my parents decided to move because there are no good high schools in the area (And Ive already been through 4 schools since the move). after like 2 years or so, my parents finally sold it. we had been using it in the summer up until then. the funny thing is apparently some executive from MTV came and tried to buy the house for the "MTV's Summer Beach House" promo. my parents turned him down because the house is a classic victorian and they didnt want it to become a party hall. o well, I thought it wouldve been cool to see the house I grew up in on MTV.

SPOILER ALERT!
Well, not really, but it comes fairly late in the movie. His motivation for hating robots, was, back in the day, he was hit by a Semi driver who was asleep at the wheel, which threw his car into another car, throwing that car(hereafter referred to as car "b") into a girder. The driver of car b died instantly from the girder railing thingy, as both cars were thrown into a river. The car was slwoly sinking, water seeping in. However, in Car B, there was still the mans little girl, drowning. A robot busted through a window, and began to attempt to Save will Smith's character, despite Smith's pleas to save the girl. Smith hates robots, because he felt that, even though he had a statistically higher chance of surviving(His 45%, versus the girls 11%,) the robot should have saved hte girl, and demonstrated they are not even remotely human.
