ummm, they didnt buy the game, and yet they get to play it fully, and also take up said companies bandwith, i dont think that would sit well with said company.

Nononono, I understand now... it's pay per download. The first guy (guy 1) would have to either:
[a] let his friend (Guy 2) d/l it and pay for it himself.
[b] charge Guy 2 for the download.

If Guy 1 didn't think he'd have to pay for it, yet shared his account and so got billed, Guy 1 is foolish.

The only way it would work is if you could download it as many times as you want when you pay for it once. That would serve the purpose of the CD, say if your computer crashes and you loose your hard drive data or something. People want to know that they can get the game they already payed for again for free. They could use the thing that the guy in the article mentioned. Have the game check the account key on the server to make sure that it is a legit user. That would keep people from sharing accounts.

Now that is a good idea. They could only let you download it once but strongly suggest you burn yourself a copy for backup.

What's to stop people from sharing a CD they bought from a store? Downloading is no different.
