Well onces the two clamps on the heatsink are clamped down on the motherboard it should solve any allignment problems. I dunno... can you take a picture and show us later?

No way to do it ,Im at work right now and when I get home I wont be able to use my computer untill i figure out the heating issue im sure ill be able to figure it out I will try to use more compund I used a paper thin amount

You want more than just a thin bit of thermal compound. If you put on too much it'll just run off the sides and burn up (not THAT big a deal). You want enough so that it conducts the heat well but not so much that a ton gets squeezed out. Some squeezing out is just fine though.

Make sure you followed the directions right on intalling the heatsink. Usually you have to press down while screwing it in, etc.

I'm betting your fan heatsink is on either backwards or sitting on a ledge. I don't see how not having enough thermal compound is messing you up. You did pull the protective plastic off of the heatsink right?

the heatsink never had any protective plastic , but if im lucky ill figure it out when I get home and that guy will get me my copy of windows then I can start messin with it

There wasn't a sticker or a piece of plastic covering the copper pad on the bottom of the heatsink?...

No but I fixed my cooling problems, the people installed the fan cover upside down ,so when I looked at the instructions I put it on upside down so it wasnt making contact , now I get a cool 27c
but now that I have winxp in there my explorer keeps crashing and my computer has crashed once during install and once since then . OI im such a newb when it comes to this stuff and its pissin me off
