What is that marker on the bottom left corner of the tech plant?

"MAO TECH PLANT" - Mao, like Mao Ce Tung?

And those green "crates"-... F(?)- A-B-C-D-E... maybe the occupation of a specific area of the base? But the "C" is on the right side of the picture, outside of the base. Maybe mission markers?

Ideas?

Yup - I'm pretty sure the devs said there were no longer drop-ship centres anymore and that tech plants would instead spawn galaxies.
