Ah ha. Didn't think of that one. Provided there actually is a good ammount of speed advantage, that makes for a fairly useful advantage over a Decimator for example.
One other issue, on the fileplanet video, despite how cool the Striker was, the explosions were pretty weak (in fact at first I didn't think there was any at all). This is probably because all visual effects aren't implemented or details were turned down... right? hopefully?

However, going by the latest (pretty sweet) gameplay video, the explosions in PS really, really suck. I couldn't tell if anything was even exploding . . . instead of smoke and fire, you see little white sparks. I mean, sparks! Sparks! There are plenty of low-poly explosions that will work fine. Heck, look at how simple the Tribes 1 disc explosion is; that works fine. Maybe add a few more frames to the texture, or have it blend between the frames, but that type of explosion would probably be perfectly acceptable to most players.

the phoenix reload is about 3-4 seconds long, which seem too quick for a weapon that powerful, but i really dont know the balancing. so it could be that way for a reason.

I think u all may be overestimating the control u have over the missle. According to the video, he was only able to tweak it so much (heck he even made sure to lead the target before he fired) and the missle pretty much went straight. Not sure of the damge diferences between missle types (2 phonex missles and a mosquito working on that vehicle who has taken who knows how much damage already to take it down). All in all, I will have to experience first hand to confirm anything ^_^
