Sorry Wild but i suspect you're wrong. Add others have said it's all about the cash shop (and specifically the exp boosters). Firstly, as a f2p game you can bet the shop will be open asap; that's just good business. So if we're buying consumable boosters during beta they have two choices; 1) no wipe and characters roll over to live 2) they do wipe and refund all your cash shop purchases. I had a long discussion about this with a clan-mate who has worked professionally as a tester and he said the industry is actually moving more towards option 1 (see Tribes). Open beta isn't really beta as we might think of it and the companies are keen to start making money as fast as possible.
For those reasons I'm expecting there to be no wipe from open beta to live, although if there was and we received store credit that wouldn't be a shock either. |

It probably depends on the volume and severity of balance-affecting bug-fixing and balance passes they end up having to do in open beta.
If there's some exploit by which people could quintuple their xp gain that gets patched a week before launch... I'd expect a wipe before launch. Likewise if one of the faction-specific weapons was doing quadruple damage with no bloom. Patched, and followed up with a pre-launch wipe. If most of that sort of thing gets hammered out in closed beta, or early in a long open beta, and most of the work ends up being engine optimization and netcode tweaking, I could see the game launching without a wipe. |

As has been mentioned, I don't see why they would need to reset them after open beta.
But closed beta is different. The reason being that we aren't playing the game in closed beta, we are testing it. This means that the devs will probably artificially inflate our levels for testing purposes at times, which would be retarded to keep after beta. So once all of the major testing is out of the way, sure, they could let players keep their stats if they wanted to, but during most of closed beta they may be constantly wiping and increasing our stats as they see fit. Dont get me wrong, they will wipe your character probably many times. At the end of beta though there is little reason to wipe characters, of course this is with the presumption that the cash shop will be live near the end of beta. If the cash shop goes live with full release then we will all be wiped.
