You could just as well read "Loyalty Until Death" as when Death actually occurs, the person ceases to exist. With nanite-respawning, the conventional meaning of death does not mean the same thing it once did.
"Loyalty Until Death" means loyalty until it is impossible and irrelevant. Nothing save an ultimate end can stop the loyalty to the cause. Only be utter termination will the person cease or surrender his or her loyalties. Redefine death in an appropriate context and I think it stops mattering. Beyond death, Until death- with respawning, they mean the exact same thing. |
