Yeah but RAM isn't going to make the biggest difference in gameplay. Need that high processor speed and good video card.
SgtExo, yeah I am hoping so. I just took a second look at my specs and it's an i7 CPU. I'm not that great with computers but from what I have read it seems middle of the road. I am hoping the game is still great for lower-end PCs though. Otherwise, PS2 won't have that large player base I know they know this, I just hope they get it right. some of you are panicking for no reason
this game is a free2 play game.. Your not gonna need a monster PC tp run it.. SOE needs to make money in getting you to buy stuff from the store.. they can't do that if older low level PC's can't play the game just fine. Don't believe the hype about having to have the highest of everything.. it's overkill and all E-peen stuff. Game is designed to run at release with 4-5 year old PC's able to run it just fine. SOE is not dumb. Relax wait a bit. and test ur system when you get in beta first. |

Ah yes, tinkering with PS1 back in ought '4 was serious business.
I remember SOE made my "low res" sound files mod available as an optional download to cut down on RAM usage. Grey Falcon helped me out getting them to put it on the launch window. When I started playing I had p4 single core and x800 gfx card. I soon found myself going shopping. The BF3 comparison seems accurate; on PC that's a target audience of about 2 million players. We're probably gonna get a small fraction of that. I'm hoping for 10-15% conversion. 200K+ Players at launch. |

But not in the same way. The game will cater to all PC-gamers, even those with rigs that are a few years old. That is because the engine has been developed in such a way that all settings are highly customisable, like a PC game should be. This means that a very "bad" computer could play the game but you could also crank up the settings so that no, and I literally mean no, PC in the world right now could possible hope of attaining 60 FPS. Those settings are things like draw shadow distances of two kilometers which just sound ludacris right now but probably won't be in 3-4 years. God I love this game so much |

My computer is godawful, (AMD Turion Dual Core Processor, 2.3 GHz, 4GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD 4250), but I'm actually somewhat hopeful it will run this game, although obviously with everything turned all the way down, as usual. Does anyone know if this is stupid? Mind you, I'm not going for an ultra-high framerate or anything, since I was only a console gamer until about a year ago, and I hear those have low framerates compared to PC's. I also have no problem with having an even lower framerate than that for the game, since I'm used to that on my crappy PC. If it means anything, I can run Crysis Warhead on minimum settings smooth enough.
