There are competition ladders that are out there for this type of play too. CAL and TWL are two off the top of my head. Anywho, I just thought I would let you know that we do exist

And we are going to set up a squad of NCGers for PS too. This game is going to rock especially for the team oriented peeps out there.

Here's a "Capt. Obvious" statement:

The organized teams are going to own!
Yeah, I kind of made a blanket statement there. I haven't checked in on the BF1942 scene for quite some time.

Regardless, though, Tribes is so old now that there are drills for EVERYTHING. For Heavy Offense alone, there are any number of drills -- route practice (for the newbies), duelling practice (very difficult in heavy armor, but necessary -- it's NOT all about the mortaring!), Heavy capping drills, and of course rape drills.

That's for one position. Most of them aren't known by any one particular title, but they are all practiced. That's for HO; HD, LD, LO, capper, chaser, HoF all have to know their stuff, and know specific tactics that have been tested and evolved throughout the course of Tribes. (Mid-air practice, mine-disc practice -- midair minedisc practice . . .) And never, ever forget flag passing. That there is some crazy shit, I am still TERRIBLE at MA flag pass/grabs. And there's the simple versatility of it all -- Tribes acquaints you with every type of weapon that you will encounter in PS, aside from the seeking ones (and in fact the player-controlled rocket, in MANY different forms, has been used in multiple Trribes 1 Mods).

It was kind of a blanket statement to disregard BF1942 like that, and actually there are some people really testing the limits of what is possible with it -- high-speed plane pickups, for instance, and hitching a ride on a plane's wing . . . and the engineer has turned out to be quite an aerial asset.

No biggie. It just threw me off when you said that. Ya, there are some great things happening with the BF1942 engine. For instance the Desert Combat mod is a sweeeeet mod. Instead of the older historic vehicles you get to pilot/command/drive some of the more current vehicles out there. Apache's, A-10's, F16's, Mig's, etc.... Not to mention the DC is coming out with another mod with even more crazy vehicles. Anywho, I can go on all day about BF1942, but I don't want to bore anybody who may not be interested. Besides the thread is off topic now....doh.. I have a bad habit of doing that.

Okay, to get back on topic, the goal is to have fun and kick some boootay while doing it
