Actually teamwork will probably happen over time, you will always be playing on the same team with the same people. So you're going to have to learn to trust others in your empire.

Im hoping that there are huge coordinated efforts once we get deep into the game - outfits coming together to plan them.. could u imagine a large force moving on a continent...

yeah i'd like to be involved in a multi-outfit "raid" of a continent where the goal is to control the whole continent. (every base + warpgates)

you'd have certain people designated to getting bases and others to watch for droppods and shit like that.

Arrow A sense of community...

Well I do hope that there will be some sense of community in the game and that people won't grab that "I'ma l33t l0n3w0lf" mentality.

I really enjoy when people do work together in a game and actually use TEAM work and stragety. Wanting to get frags in a game is cool, but I like having a solid communication with my teammates, warning someone that there's an enemy behind them instead of just letting the bad guy kill them then fragging the bad guy. Stuff like that really helps others enjoy the game.

And also people must remember that even though Planetside is a MMOFPS it's also in some ways a MMORPGFPS [say that 3 times fast. People do develope relations with the others players on their side. So maybe that one day you picking up some stranded soilder will get your life saved or you given a special implant or weapon that you've been trying to get.

That's the true beauty of it. You never know how something that you do at a certain point in the game will come back to eitehr help you or bite you in the butt later.

anything that people could give you (you can't give people implants or certs) you could just as easily get for free at a equipment terminal.

Heh heh. The nice thing about having to certify for your toys AND pay per month is that it may keep away the idiot kids who are just running around being tools. They're also less likely to find groups willing to let them in, so hopefully they get killed alot or smarten up and play the game right.

Most persistant games seem to have a relatively low Llama Level. (tm)

The problem is the human mindset. (Male anyhows.) We all want to be the hero, the lone gunman, John Wayne if you will. There's too many people like that out there.

I also think, the longer you play a game and the better you get, the less tolerant you tend to be of "idiot n00bs" who have no idea what they're doing, and mess you up.
