There was a discussion about LARP's long ago... I won't re-explain myself... it's not as geeky as it seems... it's D&D but live and with hit location damage... we have freaking villages and most wear armor... so no "lightning bolt! Sleep! Death! Lightning bolt!" crap.

We can be anywhere from 300 to 4000 on that piece of land... but 4000 is for that big battle on the plains... and boy does the ground ever rumble

Depends on the organisation...

Ours is pretty kick-ass... most get into role and have armor or latex weapons. In huge battles I use a crossbow unless it's night... when it is... I usually take out 30 people alone (of course I've been playing for 4 years). It's incredible how much sound a battle makes... 2000 vs. 2000 people is really something to see.
