Clarification:

I'm a little hazy on the details. Is it that a Heavy Assault can't drive but they can be a passenger, is it it that they can't enter vehicles at all?

Also, can a MAX unit ride in a Sunderer or a Galaxy?

Generally Heavy Assault armour cannot drive.

Max units will fit in galaxies (pretty sure they said sunderers as well)

Still no sign of beta.
I don't know why I'm not excited, I mean the game looks fantastic and TTK is MUCH better at least we don't have to dance with our opponents anymore.

Game is still in alpha, I was hoping for a beta release date but this is much better then nothing. I wish we had more information on Engineers and Maxes, but yea good GDC.

Random question:

If you pick a MAX class, can you get OUT of your MAX? I mean, without switching classes. Just in the middle of the field.

lol that makes me think of Zero Suit Samus.

It would be very interesting but I don't think it will be implemented. If you could get out of your MAX you'd probably just have a pistol and a repeater.


It's a fun idea though.

Yo there.

After having hard times registering because I didn't know I had to type five instead of 5, I managed to get here to ask something :

As you must know, every certifications were earned at the last level (40) in Planetside 1, thus in my opinion, it was kind of pointless to chose the certifications you wanted if you could get every single one at the end.

So, will it be the same in Planetside 2 ?

And sorry for that broken english, I'm French.

While I understand you thinking "it's pointless to choose what certs because eventually you get them all" it wasn't always that way. Originally the Battle Rank cap was 20 and what you chose really did matter. Even now BR40 isn't exactly easy to get. (Ok it's easy but it's REALLY time consuming)

EDIT: Didn't really answer your question. I feel like we eventually will be able to unlock everything but because certain specific things are restricted to specific classes (Medical Applicator is only for a medic) it won't be as bad. Every class will always be viable and needed.

Thank you for your answer.

But it doesn't fully satisfy me. The fact that you unlock everything at a certain level will drastically reduce the durability of the game I believe. You won't have to spend time to get other certifications. That's sad.

Have they release any info on sniping? I know there is going to be locational damage, but will sniping be anything like it was in PS1?

I saw the Bolt Driver on planetside-stats.com listed as an NC weapon. Will the other 2 empires have a different variant or will it be a global weapon?
