Why is this even a fucking issue? There's a goddamned picture of a fucking MCG in the image, and it's not the one in the fucking centre that has almost everyone's panties in a bunch. What idiot in their right mind even claimed that the Heavy Cycler is the same thing as the MCG? The thing in the centre is a modified version of the thing in the top left corner. If the thing in the top left corner is a Cycler then the thing in the centre is an upmod Cycler, for lack of a better term we'll call it the Heavy Cycler since someone trotted that name out. The MCG is the thing in the bottom right corner.

I don't think people were debating whether or not the gun in the center and the bottom right were the same gun. They were debating whether or not the MCG had been renamed the Heavy Cycler, a term coined by the devs/SOE.

I recall Higby responding to someone on Twitter about whether or not VS sniper rifles will have bullet drop, etc. The way it was worded made it sound like each faction got a sniper rifle too, and VS sniper shot lasers or something.

When I saw this picture, I thought the middle one was a sniper rifle (without the scope) with revolver-style cylinders instead of a magazine.

I thought cylinders instead of a drum magazine at first because of the way its shaped compared to the MCG. Middle silhouette has dimples similar to what you'd find on revolver cylinders, whereas the MCG is nice and smooth. The problem with this idea is the top of the cylinder is nowhere near the barrel like you'd expect if this were the case.

However, after someone pointed out how similar its base looks like the Cycler (top left), I think the middle one could be showing off weapon mods: drum magazine, longer stock and barrel...

It's really hard to tell with these silhouettes in the way. I wish someone could come along and just make them all disappear.

The answer is no (watch them go change it on us just to show me up). Cycler != MCG. There shouldn't even be a debate - there's plainly a picture of the MCG and a bunch of other weapons (some iconic, like the MCG) that... well.. aren't the MCG. This whole thing is detracting from the magnificent splendour of the image. It's like debating whether the sky is blue or polkadot purple. I guess some people just need stupid, banal garbage over which they can argue.

Hahaha. All three factions kick ass. I'm not Terran by default, but these weapon silhouettes have me DAMN excited.
