PS was very popular in Scandinavia (btw is Finland part of Scandinavia? - they have a history inbetween them after all...) and Western Europe - as this map is using the term - is quite small, having only the BENELUX states and France in it. If you add german players (PS being quite popular), W-Europe probably has more players than Scandinavia (even based on this thread).

No. Finland is not a part of Scandinavia, although the term is often used with Finland included. I believe the correct term is Fennoscandia, but in most day to day speak even in Finland, we just use Scandinavia if discussing such matters.

I believe those are old news that have since been discarded. Wouldn't worry too much about it.
