There are High sense and Low Sense Players...
I also Played the UT Series for Many many Years, and ever when i came From UT to BF Series i feelt like, slooooowwwww :P Its basically a Good thing if its Possible to adjust the Mouse to Fast, (i play High Sense & used to it..)but never the less a Slower mouse is even better for Headshots. WE´ll see how this will work out in the Game, i can Play both i just adjust my self, with the Game. |

I agree with Sky. Please don't add in any kind of acceleration in PS2.
Here's a website I found last night when I got a 400 DPI mouse and had some trouble setting it up for Planetside: http://donewmouseaccel.blogspot.com/...ation-fix.html There's a program in the download called MouseMovementRecorder. The program will tell you if the game has EnhancedPointerPrecision on, which is what mouse acceleration is if I understand correctly. You can read the readme if anyone is interested in it. I'm going to digress a bit and plug in that I hope in PS2 there is someway we can numerically choose our sensitivity in the GUI rather than picking away at a slider. It's annoying we can't dial in the exact sensitivity we want without editing the .ini file and restarting the game. |

I think you will find that older games like CS and PS1 that call on the windows mouse settings, that doesn't work, unless the mouse software is editing the registry? But it defiantly doesn't work in games like BF where the mouse acceleration is built into the game, you might not notice it, but its there and epicly annoying for some people.

I use a Logitech G400 still regarded as the best fps mouse. I run with Mouse accel on and 1800dps. As anything over 1800dps is simply overkill in a fps.
Forgot to mention Polling rate. This is extremely important on a mouse. Mines set to 1000 reports a second.

on the polling rate though, try syncing it with your monitor to see if its smoother, so if you run at 60hz set your mouse to 960, i found it smoother, but that could just me thinking its better when its really not. Last edited by SKYeXile; 2012-07-02 at 03:56 AM. |

The G400 is a fairly old mouse. Currently £25 which i have a spare one. Also the G500 is a nice upgrade but really no difference. Mouse 3 & 4 Buttons [Check] Comfort [check] Customizable DPI Buttons +/- [Check] Mouse polling settings [Check] Thats all you need from a mouse. Where i would put comfort above anything. Also il try the 960 setting.

First game to be plagued by mouse acc was counter strike I believe... it of course had those nifty console commands to deal with it. However, since I started using a laser mouse I haven't noticed it many games tbh (until I started up PS1 a few days ago again). So yeah, bugger mouse acc and send it packing... to the dark side of the moon preferably.
The difference between them I tihnk is that on the G500 you can have smooth scrolling and there's a third thumb button.. other than that they're basically the same.

Still NFI what reduce input lag is meant to do in UT2K4 they say it ups your FPS with it disabled, i find i do better with it off, but again, hard to prove. Do you know what its really meant to do? besides the obvious reduce input lag... its pretty cool to see scoped sensitivity setting, iv never seen that in a game before. edit, wait...there no normal mouse sensitivity. unless that comes up when raw input is disabled? I always thought Mouse Acceleration was there to maintain a set turn rate for characters.
In unreal "twitchy" games (see what I did there?) without it: A character can shoot, spin 180, shoot, spin back and be on its merry way in fractions of a second making for a more reactive, and twitch-skill based game , but not very "realistic". In "tactical" games with it: A character can never rotate beyond a certain rate creating a more cerebral, tactical-skill base game, but not very "fast paced". Without some sort of Mouse Acceleration couldn't MAX units turn around as fast as Light Assault? Couldn't lighter secondary tank guns rotate as fast as the main cannon? The point of Mouse Acceleration is not to nerf your ability to pwn everybody else. The point of it is to create a different feel to the game. |
