Best Shooter of all Time!

Half Life redifined most of FPSs in my opinion. Sure other FPSs had modability but all fell palee in comparison to the mods produced for HL. The engine was revolutionary for its time. Allowing us to push it far beyond what was expected. The storyline was amazing. Weapons realistic and fantasic ones. Enemys aliens AND humans!? AWSOME. CS really is not a good mod. I see constant cases of non leet people thinking they are leet because they an shoot you with an AW/M. Crys of camper noob and hax0r fill the web from that garbage. And then come the people who think that its realistic. Then came the glory that is DoD. They made an awsome game just like CS was before Sierra bought it and ruined it. Then Serria bought DoD, guess what? They made it the biggest noob friendly game ive ever played. The game went from fast paced to slow. For example you used to be able to squeeze off shots as u jumped into a bunker, perfectly possible, they took it out. Now theres a mini map that shows were nades are. I used to beable to shoot the nades in mid air. Now they have the foolish auto reload. Takes no skill to remember to jam another clip in the heat of battle. Walking while still scoped, sounds like CS to me. Bah im talkin to much.

I loved DoD, it is the game where I really learned how to FPS well, I remember killing 4 people in a single room with my MP40, or killing person after person with my K43 on Avalanche.

But they ruined it.

Best Single Player Shooter: Deus Ex
Best MP Shooter: Half Life (Especially CS, TFC and Frontline Force)
Best All-Rounder: AvP2

Nothings beaten CS yet. BF 1942 comes close, although its kinda apples and orages. Same with Planetside, its kinda a whole differant kind of game. But as far as just having a blast on a server for like 18 hours streight without getting bored, its still CS.

Oh and for single player its Deus Ex.

I never played halo. (I don't own an xbox.) And am not entirely sure what the coop game play was like, but I did play Rogue spear and I KNOW for a fact that it had a coop feature. And that was like 4 -5 yrs ago.

I am not gonna say what the best is because its subjective but I will say my favorites.

1. CS before hacks became rampant. Theres just something about a 2000 server list with one third of the pings under 100. I can still remember when i went from newb to best-worst-player to mediocer[sp?] to decent. Most time I ever logged at one time was like 18 hours over a week end. (never made it past this poor hand eye coordination. But hacks forced me away 6 months ago. I hated that AWP, never used it.

2. DOD see above only only with about 500 servers. But it wasnt the same.

4. TFC Used to play this over cs when all i had was a 28.8 modem. I was living in the sticks. Good well rounded game.

3. UT2 About the closest to "twitch" gaming i ever played. Sucked tho (hand i coordination) but it was fun.

After a week on the trial and then a purchase last week. I have now dedicated to mastering PS. I think it is an fine fps I just need to get better. Learn the weapon physics and such.
