nah "end game" in planetside is loosly translated to 'events' something new and interesting inside of the exisiting game...
maybe some spesific events like "who has control of special instanced area x" at the end of a time limit gives a win senario; the result could then be recoreded and fill propaganda posters all over the world reminding the other factions how much better you are than them for a day or two =D If it happens too much it would loose the apeal, but a week long event (concluding on a weekend prime time), if separated by long enough breaks it could make a nice way to shake things up a little. But overall winning the war is unacceptable. |

For a game like Planetside there is going to be a variety of endgame perceptions people will come up with. Why not have all of them? For some it is restarting your rank and having an extra thing for it showing you've done it once already like Call of Duty. Having content release of new places to fight. Unlocking every cosmetic item. Skilled in every skill tree (prob the longest)
Because this game is so dynamic and open ended, having a variety of "end game" content will satisfying portions of the player base. Don't settle for just one thing |

have you guys ever played a sand box game?
there will be tones of end game content. ok lets say you have to be a lvl 20 outfit to build a outfit base. well your gonna need your players to lvl up your outfit. then your gonna need resources to build said base. who knows how this will be done yet ,but im sure it will have to do with controlling bases that are on resource rich land within the game. now you have a base, but to defend said base your gonna need some baadass mods for guns and armor. how do you get these? resources..... now that you have all this great stuff you now you talk smack to some VS noob and then your base is under attack. your able to defend said base but its blow to shet and you have to fix it. how do we do this??? resources... so you rebuild,, then attack the VS scum that hit you. now its a war of attrition. who has the most resources to out last the other not only do you hit their base, you cut off their supply of resources, starve them out,then destroy the base for good. then rebuild, and wait for them to rebuild or get hit by the next outfit thats looking to take over. i could go on for days .... there will be tones of end game content!!!! "Endgame" is just simply improving your strategies and overall skill of the game. You're never going to "beat" Planetside. There's a lot of idiots subscribed currently who think this and look at the current state of the game. If more people would come to this realization PS would be a much better place. If you want real end game content, I'd suggest staying away from the MMO market.

I like this General Idea. Getting replays of the last couple minutes of various fights while in the foothold dinking around or managing things would be kinda cool. Maybe put fixed cameras in the bases/outposts to record it even, you'd get playbacks of fights from the last 8 hours, with location and time stamps. Only from stuff controlled or hacked by your faction though.

People wanting to "win" is what ruined the game play in the original PS. It resulted in 50-80% of the players having Uni-MAX, killing every generator to end/prevent a fight, killing equipment terms in Tower spawns, and a bunch of other faggotry. It's an MMOFPS, it's not WoW, it's not LotR, it's not SWTOR, it's a goddamn fucking shooter. Deal with it.

I'll throw in a quote from Arion posted recently on the PS official forums: "I seem to remember a lot of people who quit saying that if plasma, aa, gen blowing, max whoring etc didn't get under control the game would die. Now all I see is the above and there's maybe 30-40 people per empire on.And the better part was all the plasma, aa, gen blowers saying the games better without those "quitters". When people who just wanted fights to continue on during base fights went to the forums, they were criticized by a community with ignorant outlooks and beliefs on how the game should be played. These players viewed it as an MMO-RTS, not FPS. Yes, lack of dev support did allow players to be able to do this, but it was these players who made the choice to dumb the game down further. Now, if you look in PS that's all who remain - the people that like to sit around for 15 minutes at a time staring at a wall feeling like they achieved some accomplishment by changing the color of a circle. |

I played a little yesturday... Not many folks on but it does seem that we were able to actually keep the gens/tubes up at the bases we were fighting for. I always like seeing that...
Some people play the game to complete objectives. Others play the game to fight each other. While others like a little of both. Unfortunately, some people are short-sighted and don't know how to weigh options properly so they just do the same thing over and over again, without thinking about it. |

The lack of development support and their inabilty to patch broken shit and balance properly does not help things, but this game used to be able to be compared to tribes or unreal now its just that POS SOE left out and forgot about. |
