Well, to be honest, if you've never played the game before you probably wouldn't know who is who anyways. It's not there to showcase the factions, it's there to showcase the massive scale of a great game.

I thought the way the Vanu was presented was awesome. NC portrayal seemed a bit to Rambo-esque for my liking, but that's just me. It also seemed weird that the TR were basically cannon-fodder the entire trailer. Apparently, light assault will be OP in the game ^^

And am I the only one that thinks the trailer will give some people the wrong impression of the game? You can't go and lone wolf it and expect to kill everyone in front of you. It seems far more geared to the CoD fans than fans of a shooter where teamwork is needed.

I'm pleased that there will be liberal use of hydraulic fluid in the game.
Nades down the hatch, the ability to jet pack from galaxy to galaxy and shoot thru the fuselage and then nail the pilot.
Plus you can shoot vehicle drivers/gunners who can stick their heads out of the prowler.

So much I didnt know was possible.

If I was an objective viewer, I would have absolutely no idea what the three factions are about. I just saw one guy who seemed to be related to Duke Nukem run through a ton of unidentifiable and apparently unimportant enemy soldiers slaughtering all of them, or nearly all of them...single handedly.

This was obviously a showcase for the NC. Unfortunately the hero gets killed by three mobs at the end who don't even take the time to finish the job.

Certainly a noble effort, but woefully inadequate in describing the game as we know it.

So a friend of mine just watched the Planetside 2 trailer (with no prior knowledge of the first game) and told me "This looks awesome... Think it has multiplayer?"

He was completely serious.

So yeah. Beautiful trailer, not a great representation of the game at all.

Saw a couple TR maxes that the light assault just skipped by to let someone else take care off. Imagine that, even in a cinematic trailer they have the right idea. Keep pushing foward and overwhelm the enemy. Now only if the current PS1 n00bs can take notes on that shit.



And this is why there will never be a full movie. No matter which side they focus on the other 2 will flame them. lol
