Vehicles, I feel, should not be 'Jump in, blast off' like BF vehicles. There should be a period of time between starting to enter the vehicle, and actually moving the vehicle. Whether that's a enter animation, or a timer before the engine starts, I don't really mind. |

The problem with this poll is that it doesn't take into account the man hours required to create and implement all those additional animations and interactions. It could take a big chunk of the development team weeks to add such a change to the engine this late in development.
So what the poll is really asking is this: would you rather the developers forgo weeks of work on other content and fixes in favour of adding animations? And to that, my answer is a resounding NO! |

I definitely want the entry and exit animations for vehicles back in Planetside 2.
Those animations made Planetside very very special to me, since I love such details. Also I want weapons and equipment to display on the soldiers bodies again. |

Do you want enter/exit vehicle animations?Do you want it. Yes or no. Thats it. I dig that you're highlighting the importance of the COST of implementing this feature. But you're kinda stepping out of line by correcting other participants who are correctly responding to the OP's original question. x_x For the record I agree that cost is a critical consideration. And as RandomNPC pointed out, its been brought up and discussed. I think people get that. But you're wrong to attempt to supplant the OP's original question what your own preconception of the core issue at hand. You're WRONG man. So wrong. Why you gotta do everyone like that. >_< [Edited for 37% less soapboxing] [Edited again for even less soapboxing. Evidently I need to get some sleep as I'm getting grouchy and more than a little delirious. I just wanna punch someone in the head. And then hug them.] Last edited by Wayside; 2012-06-26 at 02:13 AM. |

I think one of the great aspects of the F2P model is that we as players have the ability to vote with our pocketbooks. Adding in these animations will take man-hours, and man-hours cost SOE money. If you want to see animations added in later on, be sure that you are spending money in the shop. After launch, the continuing quality of the game is going to be directly effected by our willingness to pay for that quality. If we all do are part to contribute, we can expect more and more from PS2; If we don't, we can expect less and less.

How bout the middle ground for all those naysayers:
Instead of having the entire team somehow work on the animations, how bout we get just the animation team to work on it? Did I just blow your mind, or did I blow your mind? Last edited by Otleaz; 2012-06-26 at 01:56 AM. |

Yeah, hey Higby, we are talking to you man. Every poll on this subject has been a landslide YES, we want animations! The people want animations! This is one of the defining elements of Planetside, DON'T LEAVE IT OUT (It's ok if it comes in after launch, but at least confirm it so we're not sitting around wondering about it).
This needs to be added to the game, period. I don't care if i have to wait another 6 months to play it. Last edited by Grimshad; 2012-06-26 at 02:11 AM. |

https://twitter.com/mhigby/status/217068339388891136 So according to Higby, it would take months to make these changes, Alpha or not. |

Higby said "3 to 4 months" on twitter as a guess for how long it would take. Seems like a perfect thing to start on after launch for the first major content patch (and before they start making new vehicles, as each vehicle made without them is just going to make things take even longer!)
HIGGLES, WE WANT ANIMATIONS. Don't cheap out on the vehicle experience with BF3's shitty warping. |
