The Mobilization will go on as planned... if the hotel ended up being badly damaged, you all can camp out in our apartment
However I can't refund you your hotel money (I went a lil' over budget with the r33t gift bags). And we have to share one bathroom. Btw, for the community. I got more calls from you all than I did from my friends in Buffalo!!

Well I'm back. I just want to say: Fuck You, Hurricane Charley! Ahem.
Boy did this storm make a mess in Polk County. I was at my parents' house in Lake Wales and we had made preparations, but nothing prepared us for this. Gas stations and roadway signs are simply gone. Trees and powerlines are downed everywhere. We were just today getting gas into town, but power restoration is going to be slow, they say not until next Tuesday as most of the substations had been demolished! Thankfully none of us, or anyone we knew, were hurt, but everyone is out of power, water, gas, ice, you name it. Our food was rotting, we smelled, we were tired from hauling trees from the yard and picking up all the debris in 90 degree weather, when suddenly my Uncle from Miami surprised us by driving into town with a generator, several gallons of gas, and massive quantities of water. I had been sent that same day on a mission to north Orlando to get gas, ice, and water, only to come back to a house transformed. My parents now have limited power, radios, more food, and other essentials, thus freeing me to get back to own home. After my brother and I helped my dad move all the trees, I drove back to my house in Ovideo (which had been hit heavily and also suffered a few tornados) to find it still standing with no damage. Not only that, but it never lost power, ever! I could have ridden out the storm playing Planetside! Oh well, I'm glad I was with family during the storm and to help with the clean up later. I feel terrible about all those people who lost their homes or loved ones and for all those without power and need it for food and medicine. But I know they're getting tons of help as we speak, I've seen convoys heading all over the place. I've been all over Central Florida today and yesterday and I've seen hundreds of crews working to get things repaired and provide people with essentials. What does this have to do with Mobilization Alpha? I've been through the attractions area three times already, and most if not all of the hotels have power, gas, water, ice, etc. and are operating as normal. The airport, major roadways, and traffic lights are business as usual. By the time PSU:MA comes around probably the only evidence you will see of that bastard hurricane are the leaning trees. There are so many professionals and volunteers out there working round the clock to clean up and repair everything, that I have no doubt we're going to have a great time this weekend. I'm going to head to the hotel tomorrow to inspect it personally, and take a few pictures if I can. Till then, I'm going to be online to night to witness the PS event, I thought I was going to miss it. I am extremely thankful that my family didn't come off worse than we could have. I have some pictures to show you so you can see just how bad it might have been if the wind merely shifted a few degrees over: Before: After: Before: After: Before: After: Neightborhood: Yes, that is a road those vehicles are on.
