Pretty jelly of all the people on the west coast who get to live nearby Stone, SN, RR, etc
But we do get DFH, The Alchemist, Troegs, and Victory. Just cracked a Golden Monkey yesterday. Was good, though I was spoiled by the St. Bernardus Tripel I had a few weeks ago. |

If any of you roll into SD, you're welcome to attend my meetup group, "Beer Geeks & Board Games". We meet every other Sunday at Churchill's pub. PM me if you are dropping by so I can make sure to have the proper amount of chairs available.

@MGFalcon
My dear friend and fellow beer lover, thanks for starting this thread and giving our worshiped drink a place to be discussed. For myself and my outfit, as well as all other fun parts of my life, beer goes hand and hand. I am also a huge fan of microbrewed beer. I cant even stand coors, keystone, miller, ect these days. I live in Colorado and we have some spectacular beers to choose from. If I get a chance I will post some pictures. Cheers! |

Just something to add, sort of off topic, but on the topic of beer. My home town of Memphis has had a local brewery pop up in the past few years, and if you know anything about Memphis, Tn, you know that we have some of the best water in the country. Well, I can attest that Ghost River is one of the best beers in the country(imo of course). I think it has to do with the water.

If it has a high gypsom and epsom content it will make a huge difference to brewing.

Long ago I remember a Cave Creek Chili Beer with a jalapeno in the bottom, not sure if it related to that habenaro beer or not. LOVE's me some West Coast IPA's and Double IPA's. Russian River Brewing's "Pliny the Elder" is tops Lagunitas' "Hop Stoopid" and "IPA" and "Little sump'n sump'n" + others Bear Republic "Racer 5" and "Racer X" Others of course, like the (California Coors) - Sierra Nevada Pale Ale When out to eat if they don't have the local stuff I will get a Fat Tire, or Sam Adams. If Mexican food then a Negra Modelo (had it on tap for the first time the other day holy shit good stuff sooo much better than the bottle). |

Smithwick's Irish Ale is my #1, with Guinness a close second.
From my time in Wisconsin I grew to like Spotted Cow. When I'm in my home state of Texas I drink Shiner. When I want something a bit different I prefer Hoegaarden. And here in Seattle there's a little local brewery called the Black Raven that has an awesome IPA. In fact all their beers are great. Love the Raven. I'll drink just about anything alcoholic, but those are the beers I prefer. Last edited by Malorn; 2012-06-12 at 01:13 AM. |

I am sad I did not get to enjoy some Black Raven beers when I was recently in Seattle for Lock & Load. I did manage to drink some tasty beers at Elephant & Castle, Brouwers, and a couple other fave places.
