I don't like the helmet top, call it a /bandwagon, but it looks like the 3d designer had something going then just collapsed the top faces/polys together in a hurry. The armor is decent looking and very VS so I'm down for it as long as we can customize the color scheme.

Not sure I understand the problem.

A lot of people seem to be talking as if the helmet is pointed, when it's obviously not. You're looking head-on at a fin-like edge that runs along the front and top of the helmet.

Yeah, but from the front it looks downright odd, and even from the side I don't think it'll be much better. We've seen it in the concepts and people commented on it then too. Fish just aren't that intimidating.

I took a day before posting to mull over the look of the VS Heavy, on first look I wasn't wow'd but on another glance it has a kind of Alien vicious look to it, if I could make one slight change it would be to make the gauntlets more like claws or talons. Apart from maybe not the best paint job heh the chitin design looks great.

Whether you like the armor or not the conclusion of this thread is that enough people don't like it that it should be changed. When designing character art for an MMO you have to aim to please the most people. Clearly, the percentage of people on this forum dissatisfied with this armor is too high.

And even the few who like it are falling back on the customization argument.

This armor can work, but I think it does require some reworking with colors and materials and perhaps at least the helmet.

Rather have the base-armor please majority of people than hoping that with customization most people wont not hate it anymore

It's really easy to see the diffrence in feedback when majority actually think it looks good and when they don't Just look at.. well.. most other of these armor class-threads

wtf are they doing to the vanu. Colour is way out, the helmet belongs to some dude in a bakery or pythonesque Holy Grail, the maxes belong to a korean mmo, there's no appreciation of the VS from PS1. The subtleties of the wider game in PS1 I just think are going to be lost in this predominantly fps. A massive fps is not planetside, it's the co-op and the wider picture to make outcomes happen.

That Vanu design reminds me of medieval Russian (Mongol inspired) helmet design. From the front anyway.

You are late to the party. NC lost it's PS1 looks as soon as the first character model was given
