There is a difference between hoping to be in the first wave, and expecting to be in the first wave. Keep it in the hope catagory.

This is the point exactly... while their are certainly plenty of bugs to find, all reports suggest that the tech test version of the game is barely playable, if at all most of the time. The game's heading toward an old school style of beta, but it'll probably get rushed out the door like most of the others.

You think you're raging now? The potential for much worse is in the tech test build.

Where in that tweet does he say that all veterans will be invited to the beta during the first wave?

Our existing ps1 players are our first priority. That hasn't changed. But we can't let them all in at once. Thats just a fact.

warming up my ignore list on this forum, good that it has one ..

as i said, anyone with an active sub, log in and look for yourself, almost no ones playing and if you have an active sub u will be most likely in the first wave of invites

Pretty much like, I bought this Captain Crunch cereal that came with a free movie ticket, therefore I should be in the very first screening.

He was comparing all his years paying for Planetside 1 only, for example, for people that heard about Planetside at all one day getting into the tech test the very next day.

Yeah, people paid for access to the servers, people agreed to those terms. People are just... I'd argue justifiably upset that their paying a fee for a game that can't even pop-lock a single continent on the ONE remaining server without free time on accounts is trumped by someone whom got lucky in a raffle and they didn't even know what the prize was.

To be honest, I'm with some other members here: I'd rather be playing a buggy Planetside than waiting any longer for the polished version, though I will wait since I have to. It's just I can't enjoy another FPS online because of Planetside 1's glory days, nothing ever compares as it's always inconsequential to win or lose, and I know Planetside 2 is the only game that can scratch this very old itch I have for online competitive FPS game play.

I don't have the numbers of how many active subscribers there currently are, or the number of beta invites there will be on the first wave. But do you know who has those numbers? Smed. So in this case, I'm going to take his word over yours. No disrespect to you.

Playing a buggy PS2 would be the functional equivalent of playing the buggy mess that is the old game. What exists is worse: take modern PS1, add in the initial release of Skyrim on console (with the giant memory leak), a little dash of the Day Z mod for Arma II for flavor, and a dollop of Windows Vista.

Does that sound like fun?

I am sure there are more active subs than there are players online at any given time. Especially since active subs will get into the beta first.

I guarantee you that there will be active subscribers of PlanetSide 1 that will not get into the beta during the first wave. I guaran-fucking-tee it.

If I am wrong, I will take a flight to wherever you live in the world, on my own dime, and I will knife fight you. With an audience. I am that confident.

I can't tell if you are trolling or if you honestly believe that there is no corrolation between active subs and people connected at any given moment.
