News: Nvidia Beta Weekend Early Access (no more keys)

Have a look at this site (if it hasn't been taken down due to them running out of codes).

The most interesting part of it is that there seems to be a Beta Weekend Event scheduled for between 17th and 19th August.

Anyone have any info on what that is? Lets all hope that our long awaited beta invitation lasts longer than a single weekend of testing!

@j_smedley I used a Nvidia key on my veteran account that wasn't supposed to give instant beta access but did. Am I screwed? Ban incoming?

@kawaiiestpie no we won't ban people. those keys were given out ahead of the time they were supposed to be. Luckily not many were given out

Unfortunately Nvidia handed out some instant-in beta keys earlier than planned. We aren't ready for more people just now but that's life.

Looks like nVidia got wind of some pre-arranged Beta Weekend Event (including officially sanctioned keys from SOE) and announced it early!

Someone from nVidia's marketing team is going to get a kicking :P

I think the strategy makes sense in any case (as most marketing depts will try) to capture new/keen players first because loyalists i.e. PS1 veterans will always come back for the sequel unlike the new crowd. Anyone who says otherwise is likely just having a moan. And I could quite easily have a moan too...

I'm a bit sad to see "promo" style event related to the beta since it was stated by smed/higby/tray that the beta was not a PR bullshit like other games...
