"Size. Always. Matters." is the slogan. And it's what's known as a double entendre, meaning it's intended to have two meanings. Typically, one of those meanings is considered risque or suggestive, usually in a sexual sense.

So, looking at the phrase and taking it at face value, the slogan implies that Planetside 2 is a more awesome game than its competition because it's bigger in scale. More players on a map, bigger maps, persistent world instead of rounds...

The risque way to read that plays off the suggestion that the size of one's male member plays a significant role in his ability to sexually satisfy his partner.

"Sex sells," is the marketing term that applies here.


As for me, I kind of like the slogan. It's playful, just a little self-aware of its cheesiness, and yet kind of loud and in your face with it's bold declarations. A good match for the generally male-centric video-gaming market.

Yeah, that's what I was wondering, like I said I didn't know precisely what they were saying with that slogan, I knew that they were saying bigger is better in a game sense but I assumed that they didn't mean that in the sexual sense as I find that very cheesy and childish, especially in the marketing world where they're trying to get people to play their game, I don't think putting in sexual jokes is the way to go about that. I guess its fine, like you said its cheesy in a way its self aware of itself but I still find "For Land. For Power. Forever." would have been much more appropriate.

Great teaser.

While it is noticeable staged, it really demonstrates what Planetside2 can be in a few impressive, crisp shots with an engaging theme. It's really impressive what they actually managed to cram into those 40 seconds: A short story of base assault and capture, teamwork between infantry classes, various vehicles supporting infantry. It really plays to the strengths of the game.

For Planetside2 enthusiasts, this might all be old news. But for people without a clue about Planetside, it really screams "THIS is why you want to play this game". Well done.

Just quietly, SOE are horrible at teasers and trailers... Make a bloody CGI rendition of Planetside 2, with a squad hot dropping into a massive battle at night (tracers everywhere) - while going all tactical formation down base corridors.

Assassins Creed 3... now THATS a trailer.

... Pretty cool. Far too reminicient of the past trailers though, especially the factions trailer. I feel you could have done something more different and shown a different side of the game.
