Landing Gals... what a chore!

Yesterday was my first day. After talking to a friend who plays, I decided that I'd be best suited to transporting my friends around. From what I hear, Gal pilots were in dire need and I wanted to play something that would be useful.

Why is it that it is almost impossible to find a landing spot without getting the, "If you continue to decend, you will take damage, as well as flip upside down and get laughed at by everyone," message. Yes, I realize that the Gal was designed for hot dropping troops and light vehicles over bases and towers, but say you want to pick up and more quickly to another spot? You can't because it takes you forever to find a valid landing spot.

Anyone else feel the same way I do? I feel as if the Dropship bases should have many pads for the Gal to park on. The smaller bases should be equiped with landing pads (similar to the ones that Reavers and Mossys can park on) so you can pick up and quickly press the attack.

Remember, speed and mobility is everything in combat. Dropping in your troops is not problem, but continuing to another target is.

You don't have to land to pick up troops, you cna hover, or, once like ym friend did, over close to a tower railing and I got in...

Couldn't agree more - what really annoys me is that the "if you continue to descend..." message is not always reliable. For example, it always appeara if you try to land in a base courtyard, but you can still land ok most of the time. V. buggy, needs sorting out.

EDIT : ^ referring to the first post

Don't play my charcter with a Gal much but I've had my liberator slide 200m down a very slight hill and into the water. Couldn't take off to try landing again or stop the sliding before I hit the water. Frustrating to say the least.

Galaxy landing has always been a pain, the landing code has some issues.

However there was a time you could not land it anywhere, even on flat ground. that sucked

I think that Galaxy landing has gotten better. In my personal opinion, go for roads if you have trouble finding a level spot. Most of the time, a level patch of road is going to be decent.

And as above, only maxes and vehicles need the gal really on the ground to get in (and even maxes can sometimes get in on a hovering gal).
