Yes, there is a key that you can map in order to drop the LLU.

Not sure if you can map it currently though.

you can only drop it when you die as far as I know.

Check your key mapping screen where your weapon quick keys are. It has, at the very bottom, "Drop LLU"

I haven't Mapped it though, and I rarly have the LLU. So I don't know if it works.

It's under SOLDIER in your key mappings, at the bottom. I set mine to a key that right now I can't remember, but it was an unused key. Except when I grab an LLU, I usually hold onto it and run like a mother fucker.

i had a problem a week ago in a lighty defend bace i drove my Vangard in the bace told my gunner to grap the LLU and run like hell back to the tank but he could not find it. so i locked my tank ran in shoting, grabe the LLU ran like a MOFO back to amy tank only to find out im now stranded.

if i had a key to drop the LLU i could given it to my gunner and ride out in stile but ...

Once i got the llu it was good until they brought in about 50 guys to charge me then i died.
