Let us use logic!!!!11
Low bandwidth settings = less information being piped through = higher frames, correct? Less features = Less stuff to render = higher frames, correct? NOT IN THE WORLD OF PLANETSIDE!!!11 I set ALL of my settings to maximum, just dicking around. I /stats and see that I only suffered a 2 frame performance hit. So, I tweak it a little bit. Now I run the game with medium particle effects, high texture res, low foilage density, bullet holes, skydome, detail mesh, and all that good stuff, with a moderatly low Draw distance, and BAM! I get a +10-15 bonus in my frames, as compared to when I was at low bandwidth settings.(I changed it to High, as I have DSL) WTF?!

Bandwidth has little relevancy to fps. When set to consume low bw, ps will just update your client more frequently which will combat opponent warping. Using high bandwidth will in all likelyhood increase your fps as the shit movement prediction algorithm, which is probably cpu heavy, will be used less. Having never written a graphics engine and not being on the SOE dev team, I am also speaking out of my ass.
