I have been playing PS as almost every evening since I started more than 2 months ago.
I own a Gaming Center in Miami, and I am affiliated to Igames.org which regulates gaming across LANs, internet and WANs nation- in some cases worldwide. Recently I have heard disturbing rumors (not sure if the word "rumors" is appropiate) that two of the factions on PS have made a large quite group of members that would not attack each other, but instead purposely go after the third faction while ignoring bases, towers, vehicles and even modules installed in their respectives fortresses. There were also rumors that some high-ranking CR5s and other influential members of the community have been instigating the "demoralizing" of one of the factions in particular; and that the pattern had orginated in the European server and is now spreading to Emerald and one of the West Coast servers which I do NOT want to mention here. I have also heard the following, while I was enjoying my battles, experience points and occasional face-offs with enemies: Movements of large troops from the VANU SOVEREIBNITY and the NEW COMGLOMERATE (which can only be seen if the player has a certain level of Command Rank) have methodically ignored each other and were deliberately going for one faction, that is the Terran Republic. This would certainly be a strong accusasion, whith which I disagreed, until I found myself dumb-founded spending hours (literally hours) fighting between the two factions in one base on Ishundar. TR was holding up in a base called Akkan. Enkiddu on one side was NC, Baal on the other side VS. On the other side of the "ring", Enkiddu and Kusag bases were "enemy neighbors" with a link I was expecting to see hacked at any moment from any of the two warrying factions. It wasn't happening. The link was simply dead for more than 3 hours (you can check that fact with your own server stats, SOE) and it seemed realy strange to me, so I went out on the field to see if that was just because the two bases were far or was there more to the odd link... Obviously as soon as I would get some fresh air outside the base I would get decimated by either one or the other faction, but their towers and their deployed AMS vehicles were enjoying a blessed state of peace, almost one next to the other. Literally the distance between one AMS and the other (one VANU and one NC) was less that a spitfire turret reachout, and there were no mines surrounding them... Personally I wouldn't mind that, and I think that the home faction (in this case the TR) should feel proud that their home-turf is being host to the best battles around. I also think that everyone who has a friend in RL who opted to play a faction that is not his/her own, can very well meet with the "enemy" and exchange weapons, play around and all that stuff... I've done it too, and that is where I started hearing those rumors about a plot against TR. It would also not bother me if two friends with cool outfits decide to team up for the sake of fun, that's so part of the game! But if there was more than that to it, that would really bother me. I would also hate if this sudden turn of events would make it to gaming magazines, other forums or organizations that contrubute to the spreading of computer gaming in general. I suggest SOE looks into the issue, and forgive me if this has been a lack of respect but I really like the game and I would like to keep playing! |

I never understood why enemy empires can send tells to each other. If you have friends in-game, play the same empire or chat somewhere else. Since you can send tells to the enemy, it can't be against the EULA to cooperate with enemy forces when able. The game doesn't make it easy to do so though, considering you can't squad with an enemy or ride in their crew vehicles, so I don't think syndicates like this will be anything more than cliques with little real impact on the game. If people see friendlies destroying their bases' modules too often, the devs may feel the need to treat it as griefing. I haven't gotten a module benefit from a base in days on Konried, some of which I believe to be the work of spies in our ranks who destroy friendly modules instead of protecting them. Just speculation though. One way or another, seeing no modules or CC stuff on the battlefield is making CC the 'invisible expansion'. People that turn their inability to amuse themselves into an excuse to project misery onto their fellow players need to be subdued.

If it happens, it happens. Having three factions is something that SOE can be remarked upon as a stroke of genious. Having an odd number of empires makes the game fun and interesting, in my opinion.
If the Smurfs and Barneys want to try to take my Empire away, they're gonna have to pry it from my cold, dead hands.

lmao.
It was a double team, get over it. Alot of times, i log in with the TR zerg on cyssor, and the VS on solsar/hossin (barely attacking each other, i might add). You don't see me bitching about it on the forums, do you? ps, i was at that battle. there IS/WAS no truce, i killed just as many VS as TR that night. |

I personally would love to be involved in something like that. The prospect of two factions temporarily or in part striking an alliance for the "greater good" is something which can happen in real life, and evidently can also happen in a game.
Just try to fight them as best you can, there's not a lot more you or SOE can do. |

Once that happened TR and NC went at it in the north while VS fought on two fronts against both factions in the south. Nice conspiracy theory, but it's all a load of bollocks from my view. I despise NC sine their way of fighting is lots of individuals with jackasshammers, and respect TR for the way they fight in cohesion with one another. Quite simply, Im sorry to say my outfit have been fighting since 3:30am GMT this morning HEAVILY against TR and NC, so please if you wish to cast aspersions, bring proof. You really think that so many people could get organised enough to make sure every newbie, respectable player, or solo player doesnt try to take out each others ams? I sure as fuck would If I saw it. They both probably just wanted your base as a prioroty and were so focused on it they genuinley didnt notice.

This just means that teh nc and teh vs think that the tr are really tough. it'll be funny to see what happens when the tr is vanquished to almost nothing, because then what do you think the vs and the nc will do? just stand there? i think not.
