9500 pro vs 9800 pro my comp

just as a quick note. I just bought an ATI Radeon 9800 pro 128mb and I thought I'd share some numbers.

With the 9500 pro installed 3dmark2003 score: 3617
With the 9800 pro installed 3dmark2003 score: 5316

My comp is an
AMD XP 2500+ (333fsb)
768mb PC-2700
usual HD, Floppy, etc..

That was using all the same hardware, drivers, settings etc. I will post more as I get them.

Well naturally you're going to get a better score. The 9500's only had 4 rendering pipelines, the 9800's have 8 pipelines. Also, 3 years of upgraded hardware will have that effect on the score as well.

What are you going to do with the old 9500?

Misc Info

Its very easy to fry a 9800 pro there are lots of cases of just a few mhz doing it in.

Also ATI fixed the 9500pros sfter about 6 months of the ones that you could acctualy turn into a 9700 by acctivating the 2 unused piplines. and the 9500 is last years product, and not a true DX9 desined Card

well its easier to OC this one than the 9500 PRO that i had. Aslo I've heard nothing but good things about OCing the sapphire on stock cooling! let alone when you add your own. also thats why I bought it in the first place, so I dont have to OC anything.
