In one sentence:
...we turned to EA producer Reid Schneider. "It's the same physics code as Battlefield and some of the same network code," says Schneider, "but it's an all-new rendering engine, an all-new sound engine, all new content -- it's a whole new product." still looks very good, and I am still looknig forward to it, but.... I'll hold of on saying much about it for now. |

Well, the problem I have with 1942 is that it is SO vehicle dependent. In most of the boards infantry is just cannon fodder. If you are not in a tank or something you might as well just lay down to die because of all the rampant running over. Hopefully in Vietnam they will have it be much more infantry based. With foliage and all that it is probably a more realistic expectation.
BTW has anybody read that they are going to make a Star Wars game that is similar to 1942? I read a blurb about it somewhere that they are just starting the development. It is not a mod of 1942, but a separate game that is similar in style. That should be great. Hopefully they won't butcher it like they did to most of the other star wars games. |

everything. Granted its better than most games netcode but what really I'm disapointed in here is hte same physics... I hate the physics in this game. you fall from 2 feet and you die, bullet travel just sucks... I could whine all night long, long story short I was hoping for a rewokr of the physics.

True. Battlefield 1942 was thought of the first online "war" because everyone was running and gunning, but they happened to all be going in the same direction. I heard its much more diverse, you can go find sniping positions in the jungle, call for napalm strikes (although realistically I doubt they'll ever come) and scout around and hide in teh brush to take down some UH-60 Hueys. |
