So, my wireless network has become a royral pain in the neck and I am changing over to a wired network (wave of the future my butt). I have to run a cable, outside of my hose from the 3rd floor to the 1st floor and my question is:
1.) Will a cable that long (just guestimate on the length cause I don't know) be able to transfer data reliably. 2.) Can I buy special outdoors network cable that is grounded? Thanks in advance.

1. yes
2, Put it though your walls its not that hard. And why would you need grounded cable? i bet they make waterproof stuff. but it not like it matters unless you get watter on a part that is exposed, as cat5 has an outer sheathing, and a sheathing over each of the 8 wires in side of it

The reason I need grounded is in case of lighting stirke I don't wanna lose my comp/start a fire.
