Why not just remove falling damage from this game completely? It seems to me that the falling damage is just more problematic than it's worth. It's glitched in that if you are running on an uneven surface you take damage. So running/driving from point A to point B can cost you up to 50% or your health! Now vehicles are also taking too much damage from "falling" over slight bumps or over the tops of hills they crest. Plus, I can only guess to how many extra calculations the server must make tracking all of this and making damage determinations.
So I'm suggesting just removing it completely. This would nix all the bugs, save the devs time to fix real problems, and in a small way save some server workload at the same time. As for "realism" we can assume that every vehicle and avatar has inertial dampeners built in that protect from minor falls. These would have no white light effect like when you bail from an aircraft. Bailing from an aircraft would have the "advanced inertial dampeners" that not only stop you from falling to death but instantly stop your forward movement. This double protection could explain why there is a visible dampener when bailing and not one when you are in a ground vehicle or on foot/MAX.

I agree. Auraxis is a planetoid approximately 60% as massive as Earth (Terra), let's say. Falling damage is inconsequential, let's say.
It's a game. The devs can certainly remove falling damage without angering the customer-base. So fix the physics engine or eliminate falling damage. What harm could it do?
