Pros & cons of video games

just list what you think are pros and cons of video games. it can be anything, like a con would be: carpul tunnel syndrom. some of the pros could be: increased hand-eye coordination, having fun. stuff like that. so, just wondering what you think some of the pros and cons are.

oh, this is for an article am suposed to right for a magazine project am doing.

a pro - makes u smarter! better war strats and u learn facts in many games!
a con - takes over ur life

Like me for example my skool grades hav gone from b's and a's in my fave subjects to e's! From skipping skool to play planetside! i'm in my last year and skiped 2 months in a row to play it and havnt gone bk! parents been fined for lettin me. Games like Planetside get too addictive! Lucky for Planetside it does get very boring and linear

Pro's: umm.. ummm... hmm.. Kills time

Con's: Kills social life, gets you dumped by g/f, gets you fired for being late, bad for your eyes..i could go on.

Not many cons if you don't make it you entire life, like Scorched seems to have.

a pro is stress relief

My g/f is fine with it! she lives with me atm for sum reason :oS and plays planetside more than me lol!

Pros: Increased situational awareness, increased reaction time, increased coordination, builds leadership skillz, more thought provoking than TV, and if it's a PC game it will lead to some very usefull lines on your reseume since you'll learn how to troubleshoot a computer as a side effect of gaming (no joke - last monday I got a promotion at work and the only thing that set me above their 2nd choice was my extensive PC gaming history).

Cons: Addictive

Con: You can end up like scored_earth or porkfryer

Pro: You can have a lot of fun participating in a massive battle.
Con: You can make posts in the wrong forum.
Another con: You can get banned twice and return again only to be instantly identified by your sheer incoherency.
