Wrong.
Early on, when Nvidia released the first line of GeForce FX Cards, they used their own instructions for Direct X 9, which kinda screwed up. The newer cards are 100% Direct X 9 compatible, and run Direct X 9 games full speed.

They are both the same card, exept the Asus one is more expensive. If you really care about the 2% or so difference in manufacturers, get the Asus. If you want to save money and not notice the difference, get the cheapest 9800XT you can find.
Remember, the card will only perform on how well tweaked your pc is.
