I've received two emails from such a person and one called "[email protected]". I made the mistake of opening one of them and all it said was "Have a nice day". I'm kind of scared that it may have done something. John does sound evil and I know MS doesn't send emails out.

you should be okay, i think, as long as there was no attachment to download. downloads from e-mail are usually the only case where you'll get a virus... i've never gotten one from opening an e-mail but i'm pretty sure it's possible. anyways, if it was truly malignant i think it would've done the damage by now, but that's not for sure. aside from that, just keep running anti-virus software and cool out. you should be okay.

there can be viruses hidden in a normal email code, altho hard as hell to do, possible (hard as in most hackers dont know how to do it even), and it may be a worm that is leeching all ur comp swap space, restart, clean up your HD, make sure ur Anti-Viral definitions are upto date, do a full scan, then check ur CPU usage, if it is still high allt he time, put ur head between ur knees and kiss ur ass goodbye...or u could possible reformat...pain in the ass tho
