ok, i'll go find you part you ned to look for, BRB with some stuff. (you need just a tower right? i'm leaving out CD-Roms/floppies unless you say you need them)
Also i'm gunning for intel, becsaue i would only get an AMD64 at this point as Xp's fall in thier dust at the higher speed grades Mobo: Asus P4P800 Deluxe, it give you tons of features and asus put in PAT on this board even thought its only suposed to be on 875's, i have this board and absolutly love it. http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...131-450&depa=1 $120 CPU: A P4C 2.8 ghz, this give you lots of room for ocing if you want, its a nice CPU, with all the good stuff (if you have 20 extra dollars get a 3.0) http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...116-159&depa=1 $185 CPU cooling(oem p4 have no sink): Thermaltake Spark 7+ put it on temp control mode and your set http://www.buyxtremegear.com/a1715.html Memory: A gig of nice DDR500 cas3(but ddr500 not 400), 2x512 macted pair, from Geil this stuff is a great deal, and it give Uber amounts of bandwidth especialy if ou OC your FSB (you could also go for somethign similar at ddr400, but BE SURE TO GET CAS2) http://www.buyxtremegear.com/geilgl1g4000dc.html $230 Video Card: You get a choise either Nvidia of ATI both of these cards are very nice, though tsometimes one is better than the other Radeon 9600 XT http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-121-501&depa=1(Video in video out modle) FX5700 Ultra http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...145-073&depa=1 I'd go with the 9600XT $183 Hardrive: Western Digita 120gb SATA hard drive, faster than most out there and on the new sata interface(the mobo supports it, also get 2 is you want Raid 0 performance and have extra cash) http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...144-151&depa=1 $110 Get an OEM verison of XP home($100) or pro($150-200) PSU: cool 500 watt PSU that has gotten decent reviews http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/frozencpu/psu-50.html semi extra things: CD-Rom, floppie, and Soundcard(optional the mobo has sound, though the Audigy 2ZS is what i have) these you can decide on yourself Case: You need to decide for yourself i have a PSU abouve so no need to worry about that, go here, www.frozenCPU.com www.newegg.com or www.xoxide.com and find a mid tower that you like and post it here so we can see if its a good choise. The total is 1027 not including shipping, i was shotting for 1024 after i found it was going to be close but oh well

Wait i'm not of the understanding of the above two posts
thoguht tahts cae is very nice it's sweet, no need to buy the powersupply i have you there just use the option for the Icute powersupply they have there. Also if you want the full blue look get the cold cathode lighting options I would go with this CD-RW: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...135-017&depa=1 And this DVD: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...135-020&depa=1 They are both black and they are both made by the same company, i have the beige version of the CD-RW and its very quiet and fast. You know what i would get this memory, instead of the overclocking stuff, DDR400, cas2 nice stuff. Its a gig matched pair (2x512 sticks) http://www.buyxtremegear.com/twin1.html EDIT: I acctualy read the results and the 5700 Ultra was better than the 9600xt in quite a few benches but it up to you to decide (that 9600 xt has video in and out, so iit can record tv and stuff)
