Noob looking for answers...

Hi all,

I'm a noob looking for an experienced PlanetSide player to convince me that this game is worth the $20 it costs to purchase it. The official Web site makes the game look really good. I have wanted to buy this game for a while but am hesitant. The last game I put a lot of effort into was Star Wars Galaxies and that game sucked IMO. I don�t want a repeat of that experience. Any comments will be appreciated.

eh guess your right. Normally I ask people before I invite them though. of course im not high enough rank to invite in my current outfit.

yea most people who do that are desperate. try the 666th Special Ops DEVIL DOGS, their big, but they're nice to noobs and offer a good PlanetSide experience, Saturday ops there are always a blast with 60+ people.

Some quesitons I have...
How do you travel from one place to another? Is there a lot of "running" (I hate running!)?

How does the "clan"system work? I know there are 3 main factions but do you pick a side when you create a character or do you have to earn your way in?

Are characters level based?

there are 20 battle ranks 5 command ranks and you simply join an empire and/or outfit

To travel you can go through the warpgates on foot or by vehicle or take the hart which flies into space and drops you somewhere.
And if you were too need a ride during switches of battle area you can hitch a ride with a squadmate or random person
